Who is Ollie?
In 2018 I went to a local shelter in search of an orange kitten to mimic Brody, the cat I had just recently lost. I found a few but the shelter worker insisted I meet an old tortie who was sad in a cage and consistently overlooked. Her name was Sapphire and she was a 10 year old 4 pound angel. The moment I held her I knew she was meant to join my family. We left together that day and Sapphire was renamed Ollie. Ollie is what began my deep love of senior cats and those who people skip over. Ollie was my best friend until she passed away in 2021.
Ollie’s life will never ever be forgotten, as she made such a huge impact on the lives of everyone she met. Friends of Ollie will rescue cats of all ages but our specialty is seniors. We pride ourselves in not only our adoption rate and success stories, but that MANY of those adoptions are senior and special needs cats who needed us to advocate for them and give them the love they deserved to confidently join their forever families.
